Coaching Staff
Coach Dave Garrett is the head track and field coach at Greenwood High School. The 2024 season is his 14th year at GHS and his 39th year coaching track and field.
Coach Garrett graduated from Pennington High School (VA) where he participated in football, basketball and track and field. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.S. in Family Studies. While at UK, he was a football walk-on.
Prior to coaching at Greenwood, he coached track and field at Pennington High School (Pennington Gap, VA), Danville High School (Danville, KY), Lexington Christian Academy (Lexington, KY) and Boyle County High School (Danville, KY).
He has coached 63 Kentucky state champions and 53 state runners-up during his coaching career. Thirty-seven of his high school athletes continued to compete in track and field at the college level.
Coach Garrett is a bus driver with Warren County Public Schools and works at Minton Motors.

Coach Stacy Garrett is the Director of Track & Field Operations at Greenwood. The 2024 season will be her ninth year as a track and field coach for the Gators and her tenth year coaching track and field.
Coach Garrett graduated from Centre College with a B.S. in Economics and Psychology and from Western Kentucky University with a B.S. in Accounting.
Coach Garrett served as an assistant coach for the Lexington Christian Academy (Lexington, KY) program while a student at Centre College. She has been an active volunteer with the Greenwood and Drakes Creek program since 2011. She handles the team's administrative duties, including team communication, social media, statistics, meet management and serving as the Hytek and Lynx operator for home meets and many meets in Warren County.
Coach Garrett is a financial analyst at Warren County Public Schools.

Coach Derek Johnson is the assistant head track and field coach at Greenwood. The 2024 season is his third year as a coach for the Gators though he volunteered his time and expertise during the 2021 season as well. He will be coaching all events, but specializing in sprint and jump events.
Coach Johnson has head coaching experience at Allen County-Scottsville. In addition, he is the defensive backs coach for the Gator Football program and has also coached football at Warren Central.

Coach Cameron Levis is an assistant track and field coach at Greenwood. The 2024 season will be his sixth year as a coach for the Gators. He will be coaching throwing events.
Coach Levis attended WKU, receiving his bachelors and masters degrees in Recreation and Sport Administration. He is the Recreation Division Manager at Bowling Green Parks and Recreation. He also teaches part-time at WKU in the Recreation Administration department.
Coach Levis is originally from Louisville, KY where he attended Louisville Male High School. He competed in both shot put and discus, capping his high school career off by finishing 5th in both discus and shot put at the 3A state track meet. He was a part of four 3A Team State Championships in a row during his high school career at Louisville Male, from 2008-2011. He continued his track career by competing for WKU as a walk-on thrower during the 2011-2012 season.

Coach Turley graduated from Elizabethton High School (TN) where he participated in football, basketball and track and field. He went to Campbellsville University where he played football and ran track.
Prior to coaching at DCMS, he served as the head track and field coach for three seasons and defensive backs coach and special teams coordinator for five seasons at Allen County-Scottsville.
Coach Turley is an ISS teacher at Drakes Creek and is also the four-year head football coach for the DCMS Gators.
